From modern checkout and payment solutions to AI-powered loss prevention systems and self-service micro-stores – the range of topics is as diverse as the founding teams themselves. Other teams are fine-tuning gamification and customer engagement, developing retail analytics solutions or experimenting with AI-based pricing and freshness optimization. Many tools demonstrate just how data-driven – and at the same time how agile – store operations can be today. Not to forget in-store media and interactive digital touchpoints for brick-and-mortar stores and many more solutions.
I particularly like this area because it’s less about polished end products and more about early ideas, bold approaches, and direct conversations with the people behind them.
Another highlight: many of the start-ups will also take the Black Stage, where they will present their latest applications and concepts live.
If you’re as curious as me about new ways of thinking in retail, Hall 7, stand C01, home of the Start-up Hub is well worth a visit.
